Ahead of gubernatorial election in Kogi state, the Coordinator Rescue Mission for Admiral Jibril Usman (retd) in Kogi state Comrade Daniel Isah has charged the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to do a character analysis of the party’s governorship aspirants to ensure that the APC gives its ticket to a credible and best candidate in Kogi state.
Comrade Isah gave the charge in Lokoja on Wednesday while interacting with newsmen over the forthcoming general election in the state.
“Knowing the leadership of APC too well, I so much believe that whatever modality that will be brought to bear in bringing the ticket to table, I am optimistic that Admiral Jibril Usman stand as the best aspirant and the only choice of the party to ensure victory at the general election,” he said.
He noted that in 2015 the APC leaders in the state Late Prince Abubakar Audu together with his supporters unseated the incumbent governor of the state to rescue the state from the maladministration of the PDP led government.
He said: “In 2015 we did all we could do humanly possible to unseat the incumbent governor of the state which was PDP.
“God almighty gave us victory and let me say that at the gate of Government House, God almighty shut the gate. As human beings we still have to thank God.
“God has again given us another opportunity for us to kick start another rescue mission. As it is today the government in power has failed the common people of Kogi state and for us to get it right in tune and in touch with the manifesto of the All Progressive Congress.
“We have to bring a very good and strong tusk bearer on board who will emerge as the next governor of the state, who will put the true manifesto of the party on the table where the good people will smile again where the welfare of the good people of Kogi state will be a top most priority.
“Admiral Jibril Usman (retd) happened to be one of the most intelligent Naval officer in the entire African region. He rises to the zenith of his chosen profession as a military officer. He had done a lot of things while he was the chief of Naval Staff.”
